A FAILURE’S WORTH

Success & Failure, twins who loved each other so much that it was impossible to separate them. Their love was unique, that is what their mom had told them & before dying she asked them to always be by each other’s side. After that day people always saw success & failure go hand in hand wherever they went.

Soon they both were big & they got a job with a company called Hits & Misses that delivered to people a box that contained messages of achievements and flops & lessons to go with that. Success was the one that was assigned to deliver the Hits, & Failure got her job to deliver the Misses. Both were doing their job diligently & were happy with the growth in their careers.

However as time flew, Success saw that Failure was trying to avoid her. She used to go & come back from work separately & had a sullen look on her face. When Success tried to ask, Failure just brushed her away angrily. Success couldn’t imagine what she had done to upset her sister in such a way. So one night she made up her mind that after work she is going to resolve the conflict between her sister & her.

That night after work, Success waited for Failure to come home, but Failure didn’t show up. Worried, Success went to look for her, & found her by the lake, sitting all alone. Success hugged her sister & asked her what was wrong. To that, failure burst into tears & said “I am sad because people are scared of me, they hate me & they want to stay away from me, & I envy you because people are eager to see you, they enjoy your company, & they love you.”

Success was aghast at how people had behaved with her sister. Dear failure, success said, “Don’t be upset. You are a woman with so many virtues; it is just that people don’t have the right mindset to understand you. They are so naive that as soon as they see the message of setback they start reacting to their emotions, & they fail to see that below the setback, you are also giving a possibility to improve, an opportunity to rectify mistakes, & a chance to start all over again. There’s nothing wrong with you my dear; you are doing a wonderful job with full honesty & loyalty & you should be proud of yourself.

Success’s words made sense; Failure understood that she was attaching her worth to people’s blinded reactions. And next day she was back to work with a smile on her lips & a pure intention of having her client’s best interest at heart.
